In September 2021, Shenghong Petrochemical cooperated with international leading enterprises to jointly develop a "150,000-ton carbon dioxide capture and comprehensive utilization project" and took the lead in launching the construction of the industrial chain of carbon capture and utilization - green methanol - new energy new materials in China to achieve carbon reduction goals and promote the revitalization and development of traditional petrochemical industries. After two years of hard work, the 100,000-ton methanol production project was officially put into operation, laying the foundation for the production of other products from green methanol in the future. The project is designed to absorb 150,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually and convert 100,000 tons of methanol annually.
